Traditions: Instead Of Focusing On Making Them, Try This Instead.

Unspoken Holiday-Tradition Truth #1: You can’t force traditions (at least, not ones that everyone enjoys, season after season).

Unspoken Holiday-Tradition Truth #2: When new couples get excited to build traditions together, it can create a lot of unnecessary pressure to get things juuuuuust right...and that (obviously) can siphon all the magic out of an experience.

Holiday Tradition-Building Solution: Since, by definition, a tradition isn’t a tradition until it happens more than once, focus on being present and simply make a memory. Looking back and saying, “Let’s do that again!” is more authentic than looking forward and saying, “Let’s make this perfect so we can do it again and again!” If it’s worth repeating, it will be.
